Christianity's repression of meditation

Christianity was designed to control people. It encourages repression of natural urges and paints practices that increase self-awareness as evil, because it would be very hard for a self-aware, open-minded, awakened person to not see its contradictory posits as ridiculous. It is a religion that draws its power from fear, not love, regardless of the fact that many of its main figures were portrayed as loving people. I've seen a few people, like Carla, manage to twist the tenets of the Christian faith into something loving and use it as a means of service, but I have no doubt that it was originally designed as a system of mind control.
