Encouraging info, ahktu! Keep trying... I've experienced similar feelings upon waking up. I've also started to remember my dreams more, and started a dream journal.
I can't remember where I read it, but I did read about a person who changed his sleep pattern to "asleep 4 hours, awake 4 hours". While not practical in society, he reported health benefits and an unmatched feeling of wellness.
