Hi GW, I am also interested in tarot. Have you seen The Enchanted Tarot web site? Nice hand drawn animations and music there. I find that majority of their descriptions very positive, although there are a few cards where I don't agree with their modernizing updates.
Some other tarot sites I enjoy:
http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/
http://tarotjourney.net/
http://facade.com/tarot/ especially readings done with their Minchiate deck.
I find it very helpful to have a conversation with the cards. For example if I get the Hanged Man, my next question will be, Hanged Man, please show me how to get unstuck. If I get the King of Hearts, I say, thank you, King of Hearts, please show me how this situation can have the ultimate of open hearted love that you represent.
For the minors I look up the card at tarotjourney to find the name. For example, two of pentacles is the Lord of Harmonious Change. So I greet the Lord of Harmonious Change and ask his help understanding the harmonious change that is possible for me now.
I don't have any experience with dowsing or pendulums.
I find a very simple kind of muscle testing helpful. After reading David Hawkins' Power v. Force, I find that I can often ask yes/no questions while holding both hands in front of me, in a neutral position. With left hand pressing down on right, if the answer is Yes the pressure is resisted and my hands stay up. If the answer is No the right hand is pushed down. It is unobtrusive enough to look like a random motion to bystanders. I then use a series of binary questions to narrow down the options.
I'm also keen on I Ching for divination. Should I comment about that in this thread?
I am not an expert in any of these. Although I enjoy sharing what I have learned, please be especially sure to use your own judgment here. I accurately share my own understanding, but that understanding may be misinformed or naive. Don't let any mistakes on my part interfere with your own spiritual path. These are all powerful methods of opening ourselves to spiritual forces beyond humanity. We should use them with alert discernment and respect. In my opinion, we should leave them alone when too tired to think things through clearly for ourselves.
