Pilgrims predated those Pilgrims by millenia lol. To be a Pilgrim is to walk a path or a journey where one finds a new awareness of life and how to live it.
In that sense, we are all pilgrims which can be synonymous with seekers as we are all attempting to find or remember that higher awareness that we know we all possess
