It's just another one of the many spiritual paradoxes. If you hate 3d, you'll keep coming back, if you learn to love it you most likely move on. Until you wander again.
It's not too late, time is simultaneous.
And it's also good to remember, that a human lifetime is a speck compared to the amount of time we really do get to spend in our home vibrations.
