One thing I didn't partake of was the 'Psychics Lounge', where about 50 tables are set up, and 25 minute reading sessions are scheduled by appointment (on the day or beforehand). I guess you really have to do your research to find someone you consider trustworthy enough to book an appointment without getting a sense of who they are in person beforehand.
then again, there's always pot-luck, which is how I've always approached a lot of things
Austin and I have experienced this sort of environment a few times now. We hosted an L/L booth at a Spiritualist festival with a (literal) cafeteria full of mediums offering their services. And we did the same at a metaphysical/spiritual/new age sort of expo with a variety of psychic/non-conventional services offered.
It seems like a strange way to do it... like you were indicating, it's a sort of "crap shoot". (Meaning, the quality of the service rendered could be really hit or miss and random.) But then again perhaps that still small voice inside might direct one to the best connection.
At any rate it makes for a really interesting atmosphere.
