Dear friends,
When it was discovered there was a need for an area dedicated exclusively to the study and discussion of the archetypes as presented in Book IV of the Law of One material, we created the sub-forum “Archetypes of Mind, Body, & Spirit”. Simultaneously we turned to JustLikeYou – our friend and Bring4th member with the deepest, most sustained effort to study the archetypes of which we’re aware – and asked if he would manage and coordinate this new sub-forum.
JustLikeYou (aka: Sephira Vox) fortunately accepted the honor/duty. JustLikeYou identified the archetype threads scattered around the forums needing to be relocated to the newly created forum. He drew up a comprehensive Table of Contents, mapping each and every archetypes-related thread in their new home. And he created a rough sketch for how best to achieve this study through the medium of forums.
This was all experimental. Like so much that L/L does, there was no rulebook describing how best to proceed. “As with all experiments, this rested upon the nakedness of hypothesis. The outcome was unknown. It was discovered, experientially and empirically, that…” there are ways to improve the operation of the Archetypes of Mind, Body, & Spirit sub-forum.
Guideline Upgrade:
Taking the fruit of our learning gained since the forum’s launch over two years ago, we are making some refinements to this forum’s guidelines. Please read Archetypes Forum Posting Guidelines to learn about those changes. (And expect that your life’s circumstances will improve dramatically.)
Our goal is, of course, to encourage free discussion, but to balance the desire for “anything-goes-all-points-of-view-are-valid” with the desire that this forum be a resource for the student of the Book IV archetypes. And in order to most effectively make this a resource for the student who wants to understand the archetypes more deeply from Ra’s perspective and framework, we need to focus on the archetypes as Ra presented them.
Other systems of tarot study are excellent and may be better suited for many a seeker, but on L/L Research’s website, we are here to study Ra’s archetypes, and are redesigning this forum accordingly.
Welcoming a Curator
To help facilitate this, then, we are commencing what is perhaps the biggest upgrade to the Archetypes Forum: JustLikeYou will be taking a much more active role in serving as a curator of this forum.
The curator helps to facilitate the updated guidelines because he or she is someone who, through their own intensive, peer-reviewed study, has qualified him or herself as a learned guide in the particular field.
Of this benevolent function, Wikipedia says:
With the deepest respect and gratitude for the quality of his study, singular in our experience, we at L/L have asked Sephira to fulfill this needed function.
No curator or authority on any given subject is final and infallible, of course. Much of Seph’s understanding is subjective. But it is of sufficient objectivity, depth, and insight, and is so fastidiously faithful to Ra’s articulation of the archetypes, that we have solicited Seph for this role.
Please give him your kindness. He seeks to undertake this work because he loves this study, he loves fellow seekers undertaking similar study, and he loves the opportunity to be of service. Not to mention he loves trying to decipher what a drawing means of a blindfolded guy walking downward on a slope into water guarded by a crocodile with what appear to be two sacks balanced over his shoulder underneath a partially eclipsed sun (or moon, who knows) with what seems to be a fallen obelisk with Egyptian hieroglyphics written on it.

Quote:Traditionally, a curator or keeper of a cultural heritage institution (e.g., gallery, museum, library or archive) is a content specialist responsible for an institution's collections and involved with the interpretation of heritage material. The object of a traditional curator's concern necessarily involves tangible objects of some sort, whether it be artwork, collectibles, historic items or scientific collections. More recently, new kinds of curators are emerging: curators of digital data objects and biocurators.
[In certain institutions the curator will] ….conduct original research on objects and guide the organization in its collecting.
