With that in mind, no one really cares if there is an actual city. The metaphor is an infinitely more suggestive, provocative, and compelling draw for the imagination to play with than any historical reality.
Speak for yourself. Your idea certainly doesn't hold true (I'm guessing) for most people people on these forums. For myself personally, I did not believe in Atlantis until two years ago. Since then, I have only been interested in historical facts about the civilization. I've never resonated with the 'lost city'/hero finding light allegory you present. You continue to sardonically paint this community as though it were a children's community for Disney characters. You are preaching to the choir.
