Getting a new sense to reality always feels slightly itchy on the brain. That is the best way I can describe "looking in the mirror and seeing the other self" feels like. That and if you've seen that video of that one kid getting the cochlear implant turned on and hearing for the first time and going Ngggaaah and smashing things. Thats roughly how it felt for me for the first time.
So. If you want an idea of what it looks like for the first time, imagine an itchy sensation in your brain in combination with reactions from children getting cochlear implants turned on for the first time.
