Awe, that makes me think of the book Rainbow Bridge: 12 Keys of Amenti.
We had a family familiar, a cat named Strat(ocaster) who was about 19 or 20 when we finally had to let him go. When he passed though I was there when his spirit went and it was like he had been holding energy for me and our family and when he passed through me I felt a deep awakenings. Animals are amazing creatures.
