It seems that he preaches a 'One Way' doctrine of needing to have consciously activated your merkaba to ascend.
The paths of man are infinite in variation and there is no 'One Way'. A teacher may for clarity's sake only focus on his way, but there are many ways and our higher self will guide us ultimately in the best way for us personally.
