I pray for 'things' on occasion, but I have a Taoist philosophy when it comes to prayer; sometimes I should yield to the Tao instead of fighting it, and thus conform my will to the will of the universe instead of trying to make it the other way around. If I feel something is in the Tao than I will pray to reinforce that particular issue. Mostly I pray for understanding and wisdom, and receive as much as I pray for.
