Hey everyone,
It is mysterious why some of you are receiving inbox limitations. We have virtually unlimited storage for messages, and in our current version of the forums, there is not even the option to limit PM's. It just doesn't exist as an option for us to control. The inboxes are unlimited send and receive. So this had me thinking that the setting was somehow "sticking" from a older forum version from 2008. We don't usually re-install the entire forum system when a new version comes out. Instead, we go through the upgrade process, which leaves a lot of old settings and files in place. This is why I thought that perhaps an old setting was hanging around and affecting some of our users.
In order to solve this, I'll need to take the issue to the developers of this forum. Is it possible to attach a screenshot of what you are seeing with the inbox "fuel gauge", as well as any error messages that related to the inbox being full? I can then make a case to have the issue looked at in greater detail by the MyBB community.
The only thing I saw that might offer some short-term assistance is to be sure you delete everything in your Trash. This will free up space, as the files need to be deleted in order for space to open up. Otherwise, you simply moved messages from one folder type to another and did not actually do anything to help the space issue.
This is a very odd circumstance, so thank you for your patience and your screenshots while I submit our case and await the community to respond over there.
