Guys, I would like you to know that I am only exploring and seeking. I know nothing about all this. However, the nature of Time is an important part of my quest to understand the universe. Oceania, M, 3 and others interested -- care to share your views on this.

In one of DC's books she quotes an extraterrestrial saying that humans are the only ones who are measuring something that does not exist - time

Sounds very interesting. Is there more to that from the book? edit: could have been it was from the "Conversations with Nostradamus": "One of the strangest revelations that occurred during our work was that Nostradamus declared through everyone I worked with that:...'I was not speaking to the dead when we communicated!!'....He said he was Not A Spirit floating around somewhere. When we communicated I was speaking to him while he was alive living in France in the 1500s, and while he was writing his quatrains. He was so emphatic about this that he did not want to know his own future. He did not want to know how he would die. If this declaration is true, then it suggests a complicated metaphysical concept. The concept of simultaneous time:...that there is no time.... The concept that everything is occurring at once. I truly interacted in his life while we worked. " Dolores Cannon established contact with Nostradamus during a regression session with a person who was a disciple of Nostrad. in one of her pastlives. Suddenly Nostradamus "entered" during the regression and DC was able to ask him questions.

If I recall, the measurement of time started with the industrial revolution. They wanted a way to make sure that trains could be synchronized with departures and arrivals and scheduling. Or was that the invention of the clock?
Now that i think about it they had sundials and such for keeping track of a day since antiquity.

Didn't we just read that Ra said the universe is like a clock. The moon cycle is a clock. The seasons are a clock.

Edit: removed because of heretic content
I just checked the meaning of the name clock: apparently "Clock" is an Irish boy name and it means "famous, renowned". so yes, the universe is famous, and the moon and the seasons, too

Did you realise, Meerie, that you have clearly described the fundamentals of the theory of the 'Block Universe'. If what DC says about Nostradamus is true, then where is Free Will? In that sense, I find this response from Ra very curious (from 54.13) -- Quote:Ra: I am Ra. We wish no quibbling but prefer to avoid the use of terms such as the verb, to allow. Free will does not allow, nor would predetermination disallow, experiential distortions. Rather the Law of Confusion offers a free reach for the energies of each mind/body/spirit complex. The verb, to allow, would be considered pejorative in that it suggests a polarity between right and wrong or allowed and not allowed. This may seem a minuscule point. However, to our best way of thinking it bears some weight. How can free will NOT allow experiential distortions?! :-/ I don't understand at all.

i think Ra is only here to add to the Law of Confusion. Maybe I should not have removed my anti-Ra comment

After monkey said "well Ra says the universe is like a clock" I said "who cares what Ra says"
Ra talks like Sheldon in bigbangtheory Edit: I correct myself, I understand what Sheldon says better, I think

Just my two cents. I liked this from you very much -- Quote:If Free Will is absolute and I existed as an entity, I would not choose to be subjected to the Law of Confusion; neither would I need to continue within subjection to the Law of Confusion.... I would simply Will my way out. I hope to have advanced discussions here with respect to free will and time. I think they both are closely related somehow. We could try together to understand it.
