I am going to make a BIG ASSUMPTION, and say that most of you wash your hands and have a shower (at least semi regularly Tongue)

    but what about Mental Hygiene?

    and Spiritual Hygiene?

    what are good practices there.

I make sure I'm grounded each morning and assess my mental and emotional state. Sometimes I will smudge myself, or put purifying energy in my hands and wipe my whole body down. A shower also equally works to clear and smooth out the energy of the body, especially if combined with intention. (You can clear crystals by running water over them for a few minutes and intending to purify). A friend of mine who has a lot of shamanic training wakes up and cleans himself with owl feathers.

I also do regular checks on myself to see if I am feeling emotionally ill, or grudging or caught up in a past emotional state. Then I'll usually work through these, and I use a Violet Flame technique to purify and unify my bodies together, this stimulates and moves most blockages. If I am dealing with a more difficult blockage I may utilize many different kinds of techniques to purify myself, usually relating it to the center of blockage.

Oh, I also intone mantras (from my personal Language of Light) and use symbols which can also be used to keep the energy field balanced. I find singing and doing creative things is another great way to clear the fields, because it moves things in to expression.

I think the spirit is the tuning fork to which the silent mind listens and adapts. The state of mind pre-meditation is often not comparable to the post-meditation state, in my experience. It's like realizing you forgot to turn off the TV and a static has been going on in the background.

Reminds me to do it more often..

The most radiant energies are the ones cleaning your thoughts...
The femenine energies clean your emotions...

I'm not sure which one of these two energies are responsible for reducing body odours but i knew a guy with a silver aura (purple-indigo-lightblue-green) whos sweat did not smell.

In response to your question, Plenum, and in addition to abridgetoofar's answer of silent meditation, I would say daily immersion in some form of spiritually inspiring information is a wonderful tool for "mental/spiritual hygiene".

Even after years of attempting to discipline my mind into more helpful configurations of thought, my mind remains an unruly beast that will seek out and indulge in the energies of separation, lack of responsibility, and unconsciousness.

Steeping myself in the words of inspiring material, even if only for a few minutes each day, helps to orient and steer the mind towards greater self-awareness and the movement into the heart.

    Beautiful, Wander!

I agree with this as well; I'll often jump into a random Q'uo session when silent meditation doesn't seem to quite refresh my mind and spirit. Using the hygiene metaphor, I'd consider silent meditation like a shower, and immersion into spiritual inspiration a nice long bubble bath.

Meditation. Samata, Vipassana and Samadhi practices.

I cannot tell you what is a good practice is, only what I find useful in relation to my particular incarnation. I hope the information offered is of some use.

similar to what everyone has already posted ...

i will from time to time sit in a pyramid that i built (after reading descriptions from Ra ) I find that it works very well.

it has been temporarily dismantled for the past month though, for some fine tuning.

51/49, I started a new thread here to ask you questions about your pyramid if and when you have time. : )

Plenum, I figured it could grow into discussion and didn't want to derail this thread.
