Regarding your assessment of what's known as the left-hand or service-to-self path, I have some disagreements in nuance, and maybe a larger point or two, but by and large I found this essay particularly insightful. Thanks for posting, B.

I find the Ra Material to be a challenging teaching that, in time, seems to be pointing towards a very simple message of beingness.

One problem with this material is that it is a highly mental, solitary experience (yes this is a type of community, but still). When you walk away from it and surround yourself with like-minds that come together to share love and be present, the stress and doubt of this mental energy just washes away. The material really does have a type of pull on you, as it can be such a mental exercise of details as we attempt to understand..this tension seems to signify the idea that there is no understanding.

Yet when we immerse ourselves in the company of others, the presence of being is immediately understood as something that is most real. Ra provides details that allow us to see our mirror in one hand, yet they are also saying once these things are understood, there is no need to teach these things overtly, so relax, help others, and enjoy yourself. Group gatherings really do provide comfort that makes sure it's understood that feeling and the heart is what we seek. I then find that the Ra material sort of leaves my mind as not being necessary, in that we do not need to be communicating a system of knowledge so that others may understand, but that we are to simply just be happy people. Happiness is contagious. Can there be a better teacher than joy? There is nothing more real than the moment. Forget all the nonsense..sing, dance, beat on a drum..feel and be love!
