There will be a total lunar eclipse on the night of December 20-21 2010. It will be visible from all of North America (assuming clear skies). The full extent should be at about 8:16AM Greenwich Mean time, which I think translates into 3:16AM EST.
It's not common to have a total lunar eclipse coincide with a winter solstice. I have no knowledge of astrology, but I suspect that some here do. Might any significance be attributed to these events occurring nearly synchronously?
