The below fell out while writing a few thoughts down, maybe it will help you as it helped me today ?
---
Angel: You cause calamity and destruction wherever you go, I pity you, I ceased to follow your type eons ago.
Demon: Well, you are a fool and I will kill you and enslave your followers.
Angel: Have you no scruples or mercy? You are lower than the most lowly possible being I could contrive.
Demon: What is low? It is your reckoning. I see no rules.
Angel: You delude yourself that all is separate and you can conquer and control. I gave up using your methods long ago. It is a fool's errand. You're destined to die, can't you understand?
Demon: Better to live and die and live again than to hover in some self-controlled no man's land forever.
Angel: Self-control, well justified and improved on through time, is part of what gives us the strength of a God, rather than making us enslaved to each and every stray impulse that arrives.
Demon: You have me over a barrel without an adequate reply. Are you my torturer? Are you here to 'save' me by flaying me alive with reason and appealing to my inner angel? Why are you talking to a devil, if you are so high and mighty and profound? I smell a desire to fight and argue. You are like me, in a way, aren't you.
Angel: You smell in me a desire to win. I see it too, plainly. I am sad it is alive, still, after this long season away from the lower realms. Are you not like me, too? You argue because you want to win, and you want to win because you wish to nurture something deep within -- you wish to feed and grow something, a view of the cosmos, a belief. That act is love and you are exemplifying it through your behaviour.
Demon: Neither of us must crave to win, then, if we are truly to reflect our inner longings. We should each leave the other alone. Only by ignoring one another can we truly 'win' as we so desire. It is plain to see.
Ad infinitum..
