I read the LOO a couple of times and noticed there are words "service" and "disservice".

What does disservice mean in context of STO and STS?

    For example,
    - does doing a disservice to others means _____ ?
    - does doing a disservice to self means _____ ?

In my opinion, the idea in the 3D is to make a CHOICE between being of service to others (including yourself) and being in self service only (at the expense of others). Anything that helps an entity moving forward towards this goal of making a choice is service. anything that helps them move backwards and away from the choice making is disservice.

I see that many times we are doing an apparent service to others like feeding the poor or donating money then it is an action directed towards them but it is a service essentially to our own being, polarizing towards positive. Of course the hungry will also be benefited as they will find it easier to find love and help others in the moment following your example...

Perhaps disservice is an offer of service that is not sincere, or an offer of service that is not requested?

Quote:Ra: There is an infinite range of possibility of service/disservice in the situation of time regression hypnosis, as you term this means of aiding memory. It has nothing to do with the hypnotist. It has only to do with the use which the entity so hypnotized makes of the information so gleaned. If the hypnotist desires to serve and if such a service is performed only upon sincere request, the hypnotist is attempting to be of service.
    Session 70.

Sometimes Ra cautioned about service to other that was not requested by the other as being a bad thing....

Session 11 defines the goal of service to self, as related to entities embodied on a planet.
Quote:Ra: I am Ra. As all, they follow the Law of One observing free will. Contact is made with those who call. Those then upon the planetary sphere act much as do you to disseminate the attitudes and philosophy of their particular understanding of the Law of One which is service to self. These become the elite. Through these, the attempt begins to create a condition whereby the remainder of the planetary entities are enslaved by their free will....total service to self with its primal distortion of manipulation of others... The service of the self, when seen in this perspective, requires an ever-expanding use of the energies of others for manipulation to the benefit of the self with distortion towards power.

Session 15 indicates there is no one way that service to others is expressed.
Quote:Ra: I am Ra. There is but one service. The Law is One. The offering of self to Creator is the greatest service, the unity, the fountainhead. The entity who seeks the One Creator is with infinite intelligence. From this seeking, from this offering, a great multiplicity of opportunities will evolve depending upon the mind/body/spirit complexes’ distortions with regard to the various illusory aspects or energy centers of the various complexes of your illusion.

Thus, some become healers, some workers, some teachers, and so forth.

This is reiterated in session 17.
Quote:Ra: I am Ra. The best way to be of service to others has been explicitly covered in previous material. We will iterate briefly.

The best way of service to others is the constant attempt to seek to share the love of the Creator as it is known to the inner self. This involves self knowledge and the ability to open the self to the other-self without hesitation. This involves, shall we say, radiating that which is the essence or the heart of the mind/body/spirit complex.

Speaking to the intention of your question, the best way for each seeker in third density to be of service to others is unique to that mind/body/spirit complex. This means that the mind/body/spirit complex must then seek within itself the intelligence of its own discernment as to the way it may best serve other-selves. This will be different for each. There is no best. There is no generalization. Nothing is known.

    My own interpretation in summary:

From the perspective of positive path of service to others:
Service is to express loving acceptance of self and other-self
Disservice is to reject, withhold from, or oppose a portion of Creator within self or a portion of Creator expressed as other-self

From the perspective of negative path of service to self:
Service is to increase amount of power controlled by a single master with the largest number of slaves who have voluntarily taken on the chains of servitude
Disservice is to leave an individual to their own free will and individual power, rather than offering them a role within the power structure built of the master/slave relationship

Do these quotes and comments adequately answer what you sought to learn?
