I've experienced similar things. When something triggers me to think in ways that I have abandoned years ago, my head will feel heavier and my head or neck will pulse with a dull ache. A lot of the time, I don't notice that uplifiting glow of pleasure in the heart and mind until I've lost it by slipping down to a lower vibration. But it's a great indicator of when more inner work needs to be done!
You don't really pay much notice to the effect that your level of consciousness has on your physical body until you come upon an experience that offers a stark contrast like that. People who have been at a lower level of consciousness their entire lives have no idea of the wellness that raising your level of consciousness can bring.
It's a little disheartening to me that most people think they know everything about a given situation because they've grasped it so firmly with the logical side of the mind. It's very difficult, if not next to impossible for them to let go of their assumptions and live a life in faith. It can be frustrating sometimes trying to be the spark of light that motivates them to ultimately make that change.
