when I think about Ocean Pollution, I get violently angry.

then I realise that every time I go to the toilet

I am essentially POLLUTING THE WATER

that is the heart of the issue

obviously, we cannot return bodily waste earth to earth, the way it was intended.

so I'll have to live with guilt I guess.

Yes but they process it and it comes back to you in your faucet.

Nature is the best purifier, not to mention our waste should be feeding the plant life.

Bodily waste can easily be returned to the Earth without pollution...that is a much easier task for our society to tackle than many of the other problems that plague us. While composting human waste for food production presents some complications, there are other ways to use or handle human waste that could even be of benefit to society. Even still, the damage caused by bodily waste is probably minimal and very temporary. What we really need to worry about in the oceans is plastic waste, which directly harms animals and will basically never break down. Oil spills are also extremely damaging and difficult to clean up.

Anyway, plastic is a much bigger problem. If there's any guilt to be had, it's from drinking sodas and bottled water. Did you know that there is a mass of plastic from soda and water bottles, twice the size of Texas, floating in the Pacific Ocean?

Anyway, plastic is a much bigger problem. If there's any guilt to be had, it's from drinking sodas and bottled water. Did you know that there is a mass of plastic from soda and water bottles, twice the size of Texas, floating in the Pacific Ocean?

not to mention all the heavy metals that are dumped. Seafood would a great alternative to the heavier meats if it wasn't for all that mercury.

to add a tangent: you can't be vegetarian and still eat seafood, right?

Well it's a bit hardcore, even for me! Haven't done that yet. But supposedly if done right, it doesn't smell. (Not to mention, the poop of ionized water drinkers doesn't smell anyway, so we're actually good candidates, but I don't think I could get the family on board.)

Well you 'can' eat whatever you want to, but the definition of a vegetarian is someone who doesn't eat any meat at all, including seafood. Seafood is meat too. In other words, nothing that ever had a face.

I think the fish eaters came up with their own term, but I don't remember what it is.
