Time/space and memory

I think it's interesting how nobody in the scientific community can figure out how memory works. For years, scientists thought that memories were stored in neurons in the brain, but it was recently proven in an experiment with snails that this can't be the case. Now they're saying that memories are stored in the neucleus of the cell, though they can't prove it.

So, then, are memories actually stored in time/space, and when our brain makes certain connections with the etheric body in time/space, it brings the memories back? And this is the reason for so-called repressed memories, because the memories no longer exist physically in the brain, and some kind of catalyst reconnects the physical body to those ideas and events in time/space, causing the memories to resurface?

The best 'explanation' for memory that I've come across is Rupert Sheldrake's 'Morphic Resonance'.

I came across his Presence of the Past book about 20 years ago, and it's truly a landmark work.

This reminds me of an interesting scientific article I saw awhile back about caterpillars and moths that stuck in my mind.

The short version is this: When a caterpillar is turning into a moth, it dies, sort of. It disintegrates into a puddle of protoplasmic goo from which the moth then somehow reforms. (Very little of this process is understood well.) So you'd assume that it's a pure death\rebirth, right? Well, turns out... the moth form retains memories from its caterpillar life.

So that REALLY raises some interesting questions about where\how memories are stored. Even if the scientists are right that the brain doesn't 100% goopify, it still means that the memories are being retained on a cell-by-cell basis, since the neural connections would be gone. (Assuming the memories are local at all, that is.)

From my perspective, memories are just associative patterns of consciousness. They aren't stored "anywhere". They're nonlocal. Though, to be fair, the associative pathways can be altered by a change to a physical system because when you are looking at a physical system, you are really looking at consciousness translated tangibly, so as long as you are looking through that framework the tangible form is the "bio-logic" that the consciousness is following. So in some sense you can say memories ARE stored in the physical material of the body, and in an other sense, they extend beyond its "tangible parameters". All material contains these associative schema we call memory. Even rocks.

There was an interesting experiment performed where they taught mice to run a maze, and then progressively removed different parts of their brains. They were unable to remove the memory of how to run the maze (though it certainly impeded their ability to learn new skills unsurprisingly).

Probably also take a look at Rachamandran's 'mirror neuron' theories which essentially show that we as humans are more based in our 'field' than previously thought. To the extent that we can actually mistake another person's bodies and stimulus for our own. So there is some theory that suggests memory might just be part of 'the 'field'.

Not to mention how Ra stated that, even in the case of mind/body/spirit complexes being dissolved in a nuclear explosion, the creatures in question would still exist as entities, but, in at least one case, required Confederation help in order to remember their consciousness.
