I am a writer and musician, but I've been wanting to really delve into photography again. When I was 18 I got my first dSLR for $400 from my uncle. It was a Nikon D70 with a Sigma 28-80mm F3.5-5.6 Mini-Zoom Macro lens. I started learning about the basics of photography and then one day I left my tiny camera bag on a train and it was lost to me forever. It was probably one of the worst moments of my life. I didn’t have the money to go out and buy another dSLR and since I had been spoiled with a real SLR I couldn’t bring myself to compromise with a terrible point-and-shoot (no offense to the great pointers-and-shooters of the world) so I basically left it behind and told myself that one day I would get back into it.

So recently after doing some exercises from “The Artist’s Way” I realized that I had completely blocked off my visual artistic expression and I felt the extreme urge to bring it back. I then got a bit a of a windfall and spent $900 on a refurbished Canon Rebel T5i with 18-55mm IS kit lens and a Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4.0-5.6 IS II Telephoto Zoom Lens. I’m now starting again and picking up the camera for the first time in a long time and really want to get somewhere. I’m quickly starting to grow my camera bag with each new paycheck and also trying to get out and take some photos.

So I will post some of my photos here with my thoughts from the image for you all to enjoy.

    "Individuating"

Each being goes through the process of individuation.
It is not that the being is trying to be different than everyone else--
In fact it finds glory in its commonality
But as the flower starts to blossom, its unique self starts to become
More and more of that which it has always been

Each being holds a distinctive imprint from the Infinite of which it is--
both in part and in whole
What was once held in distant potentiation now comes into being
The individuated Personality blossoms into the most full glory
    Of the One, Infinite Creator.
