you know, there was a point earlier in my seeking when it was all about the knowledge and the 'data'. This was not just the spiritual seeking; this was a phase after I left high school and continued on into my college (university) years. Lots of reading, on all sorts of topics. Knowledge, information, narrative. It was great fun! finding out about the world through the considered narratives (ie 'books') of others.

and I am sure it promoted or stimulated a lot of mental activity.

but there also came a point (much later on!) when the seeking became much more focussed, and there was a realisation that 'self-transformations' were the only thing that would change my experience of reality. I was still a fairly grumpy, angry, asocial individual at that point, despite all my attempts to acquire knowledge and 'understanding'.

that is not to say all the previous years were wasted; far from it; it formed a solid foundation of 'reality' on which to continue the next stage.

but it was in the Self-Applied-Transformations which enabled a different experience of reality. A changing of root attitudes towards experience, the ability to address certain personality distortions that had been magnified over time, and were serving as a thorn for myself and others.

I could barely even use the word 'love' up to that point; I viewed it as being so corrupted by how our society used that word.

So the self-transformations began, and continue to this day. Each Transformation clears blockages, and allows for a greater flow of light through the energy system; or put in more prosaic terms, the Transformations are applied through the Death, the Lovers, and the Judgement Archetypes, leading to an overall 'changing' or attitudinal approach to incoming data/experience.

if you don't like who you are, or how you interact with others, there's only one way to address that; and that's through Self-Transformations. The catalyst is already being offered, moment by moment, as feedback. If that catalyst is accepted and then utilised as Experience, and worked through, changes will be recorded in the Significator ('the Lessons') which enable a Transformation in experience.

of course, it doesn't really need to be understood at that level; all that one needs to know is that if one is experiencing feelings/emotions that are distorted away from love, then that is catalyst. It is as simple as that. It is an opportunity to use those feelings/emotions that are not love for further growth. If its not addressed, those same feelings/emotions will just return again and again, over and over; if they're not utilised, it will just repeat. Because if your root attitudes have not changed, the response (outcome) will be exactly the same.

Self-Transformations are there and waiting. And it is the only real way to change one's experience of this reality.

experience occurs in the mind, and can only be addressed at that level. Everything else is basically just 'data'.

The most important part of this learning experience, for me, is addressing 'external' situations. I believe that counts for most people who naturally seek within themselves. It's something that could easily lead to 'spiritual bypassing' (I really dislike that term though)

Isn't external situations just a reflection of internal situations?

Not necessarily. Though it can be, but that's still on metaphysical level. Perceiving it as such works great for understanding and integrating catalyst. However, it can be detrimental if you're already struggling with self-worth/esteem issues, as these kind of teachings or ideas tend to leave out the 'human' side of this experience. If you're likely to avoid certain situations, emotions or issues 'all is well/one' is also a wonderful phrase to hide behind.

There is the phenomenon of people who change so often that the only true way to change is to not change at all.

The subjective nature of experience does not dictate how things actually are. So kinda lol

This was exactly my path too Plenum. Years upon years of contemplation, reading and studying. Mixed with experimentation, but experimentation with the intent of exploring said learned information.

    Then it flipped.

Balancing through experience is the path to wisdom. Until one works on themselves, are honest with their distortions and imbalances, one may get lost 'seeking' for that last elusive piece of truth. That last golden nugget that will make sense of everything.

While all the time, that golden nugget is sitting in one's palm. The moment. The grand teacher for the seeker. It shows us how we think, it reflects back to us our distortions and allows us to go to work on them.

Experience is the great teacher of wisdom.

Who are these people?. I thought the only constant is change. Paradox inside a Paradox of spiraling paradoxes Wink

Yup. It's the difference between the one who is the authentic seeker and the individual who stays in the perpetual honeymoon period which the initial exposure to transcendent notions provides. There are many who seek knowledge and in that respect have accumulated a vast amount, but without the complimentary application of that knowledge the 'seeking' is ultimately fruitless. The 'inner work', and ability to be honest with the self in an authentic manner, addressing the distortions which may present themselves through projection, or manifests as dis-ease, say. You come to a point where you realise knowledge is useless (No matter if it may make you temporarily 'feel good', or 'numb the pain' of being incarnate on this plane) if you're not willing to apply and distil that to new experience.

I've noted this shift as a general theme with the new spectrum of frequency that has been made available in the past year or so, and it's something I am consciously moving towards myself. That being, the core theme is less upon expanding ones knowledge base and more on 'walking the talk'. Speaking from a macro perspective is all well and good, but if you still find yourself reacting negatively to even trivial scenarios than it's certainly telling, and is the first thing people are going to see.

I'd say this is the real test of service, not through how much you 'know', but how it reflects through your actions, and the visible transformations made in ones life as a result of that.

One thing about internal/external: I think everything is internal. However, that being said, external events are crucial to field testing our evolving belief system. Also, I believe interaction with the eternal factors is extremely important for the lower rays - red/orange/yellow.

For example, the lessons of personal power/self-empowerment (orange-yellow) or your relationship with others (yellow) are internal beliefs that are inextricably linked with your external reality.

There is a reason we incarnate in veiled 3d with such harsh experiences. It is look inward and evolve our being, and then field test that being in the fire of 3d catalyst, much of which has an internal and seeming external component.

And I think especially if you're not sure whether your belief system is balanced, because sometimes it's hard to immediately unbalance yourself after a lifetime of distortion, feedback from external situations can be extremely important to help point the compass of personal evolution in the right direction.

In the end, for me, the truest test of ones beliefs are harsh seemingly external catalyst; if ones emotions and actions flow naturally from a balanced state (after much introspection obvious prior to this) and lead naturally to the balance sought, you know you're becoming more and more balanced.

How we assess catalyst, interpret catalyst, how we choose to act/react/respond to catalyst may change as we begin to go through the developmental process. Along the lines of what xise said, external may be feedback.
