Children shouting Apple! Apple!

So within the past few  months, I've been out in town in stores and on two different occasions now, I've encountered young children randomly and very happily repeating aloud "Apple! Apple!" It wasn't until the second time that it dawned on me that "apple" is another term for wanderer. Is there a connection? Idk. Anyone else experienced anything like this?

Starting in paragraph 3 of chapter 8 on Wanderers in Secrets of the UFO by Don Elkins and Carla L. Rueckert, they talk about the connection between the term "apple" from George Hunt Williamson's UFO contact and the concept of wanderers. They're different terms for the same thing used by different UFO sources.
