Quote:Questioner: For the general development of the reader of this book, could you state some of the practices or exercises to perform to produce an acceleration toward the Law of One?
Ra: I am Ra.
Exercise One. This is the most nearly centered and useable within your illusion complex. The moment contains love. That is the lesson/goal of this illusion or density. The exercise is to consciously seek that love in awareness and understanding distortions. The first attempt is the cornerstone. Upon this choosing rests the remainder of the life-experience of an entity. The second seeking of love within the moment begins the addition. The third seeking powers the second, the fourth powering or doubling the third. As with the previous type of empowerment, there will be some loss of power due to flaws within the seeking in the distortion of insincerity. However, the conscious statement of self to self of the desire to seek love is so central an act of will that, as before, the loss of power due to this friction is inconsequential.
Exercise Two. The universe is one being. When a mind/body/spirit complex views another mind/body/spirit complex, see the Creator. This is an helpful exercise.
Exercise Three. Gaze within a mirror. See the Creator.
Exercise Four. Gaze at the creation which lies about the mind/body/spirit complex of each entity. See the Creator.
The foundation or prerequisite of these exercises is a predilection towards what may be called meditation, contemplation, or prayer. With this attitude, these exercises can be processed. Without it, the data will not sink down into the roots of the tree of mind, thus enabling and ennobling the body and touching the spirit.
My dear friends, I may have stated similar otherwise, and we may have had discussion on this excerpt before, but I strongly feel this is the most important passage for me in all of Ra's LOO material. I wish to discuss this further with all of you.
What is love, my friends? This is a very good question, but seemingly vain as it's another paradox.
Love is what seemingly binds us together and all one ultimately desires. It surpasses the distortion we have labelled 'logic', because it is both logical and illogical simultaneously.
From a logical perspective we can view it as the reason humans have concluded from observing our behaviour as a species, the reason of reproduction.
From the illogical perspective it has no cause and effect, it simply permeates all parts of existence. Indeed, the "compassion with which unity is informed by its very nature" is an expression of universal Love. Love loves what is. Love loves everything, including those that wishes to destroy it. Love loves unity and unity is love. It exists everywhere, always, and can be felt for no reason at all. No reason, my friends, other than existing.
And what is existence? Is it something logical, that can explain this reason which appears from no cause?
I think not, for the mind seemingly invented 'awareness' for no reason at all. It built itself, then wondered why it did. Additionally, the mind can deny logic by the very thought of everything existing simultaneously, also by perceiving the part of the Creator's distortion which does not contain logic. The mind can be a 'logical' device defying logic.
This is not logical. And thus there is a part of love, should it be invented by our brain, which is not logical.
So, in the end, we do not know what Love is, as it's another paradox, both illogical and logical.
But does this matter, my friends? Do we need an explanation? For me, it does not, for is not it's pure existence all we crave for? To be fully embraced by an universal love. I cannot even begin to understand such joy, meaning and gratitude towards All.
To find love in every moment, to change all situations to something more unifying, can be done! It can be understood and it exists, truly, in this reality, should you chose to see it.
And every time you chose to, you gain an increased understanding of love and unity and all it's distortions, and as such they empower eachother.
This is my individual distortion of the definition of love and "Exercise One" as stated by Ra.
I would be grateful and honored to hear your thoughts on the matter, my friends.
