so, I'm just coming up to 6 months without having any meat in my diet.
I have to say, it's gone quick; but this year has gone past very fast lol.
I know that eating meat/not-eating-meat has been a divisive topic in the past, and I do not intend to re-invigorate that division.
suffice to say, I do not really understand why I changed my diet when I did (start of 2013), but that it was just a different way of expressing the self; just like I choose certain clothes that happen to be functional and 'look good' to me. There is not even a hint of superiority or difference in what I do with my diet; it is just the 'mode of self' expressing itself in the moment. And with that, I don't even really think about having gone 'meat free' in these 6 months; I cook at home, so eating out and having to find the right food is not an issue; and my grocery shopping takes care of itself. It was a seamless transition, basically overnight without any resistance.
qualitative changes? well, changes in physical habits would be hard to disentangle from changes in mental habits, and the mental and spiritual space has been changing rather fast for me; so it would be folly to ascribe any changes to diet as having 'caused' or 'promoted' changes in other areas of my life. It comes as a piece; and you can't really isolate 'one thing' from another.
I can say, though, that my general health has been excellent. The best I've felt ever really. But that is a total function of the mind/body/spirit complex, and not just making a shift or change in one area. The whole life has become unified in my eyes; all things serve a purpose, and serve the creator, and this has been made explicitly seen in how I approach and digest experience (pardon the food pun : d).
if you had to press me on details, I can say that I eat 1 or 2 meals a day (I haven't had a 3 meal day all year lol), I have absolutely clean and regular bowel movements (daily, keeping the intestines clean and fresh haha), skin is vibrant (although there are the occasional pimples due to high amounts of oil I eat both liquid oils and nuts, plus I fry almost everything), energy levels have been outstanding and sleep is undisturbed and almost instantaneous (I have no probs falling asleep unlike when I used to ingest tons of caffeine years ago when I first started night shift). All in all, the physical complex is well behaved : d.
I guess I should add that I don't even think about the 'meat-free' label; or even count the time I have been 'meat-free'; I only made a note of it today as I was amazed that we were already mid-way through June, marking the half year soon.

libido fluctuates a little; but that is less to do with the physical, and more to do with mental and spiritual. When the spiritual link is strong the libido usually rises with it, and when there is a phase of re-organising my spiritual perspective I have noticed the libido bottoms out. Whether this is to allow the full attention to be directed towards catalyst during these phases or whether it is the fact that during these spiritual re-organisations the flow of 'vital energy' is disrupted into the sexual channels, I cannot say, but it is most likely a combo of both. Either way, I do keep an eye on monitoring my states and where they are.
not much else to add; I don't feel any impetus to further refine my diet at this stage - for eg into veganism or raw food. I love frying my food and hearing that oil crackle, and my ice-cream and yoghurt combo finishes every meal; keeping the system full and energetic for up to 24 hours when I have those 'one meal days'.
that said, everyone's digestion is unique, and does change (I believe) over the course of a lifetime; so what works then, might not work 'now', and what works 'now' might not be so appropriate in the future. There's no need to be rigid about these things

I take digestive enzymes with each meal, and also supplement with a multivitamin plus other vitamins when I feel the need. This is mostly necessary because I don't eat fruit or fresh vege's.
anyway, just thought I'd share, because even though personal experience is individualised, there may be understandings or triggers unleashed when you read about how someone else has conducted or lived their life. Not for the purposes of emulation, but to often pinpoint clues as to ways forward or the trying of different experience in one's own life. Stories, at heart, are teaching tools : d
anyway, peace fellow travellers.
