anyone in the denver/boulder area? i need your help! - alchemarie - 04-01-2014 i'm just putting this out there for the off chance someone would see this and be able to assist me. i'm from CT and have been having major disruptions in my life the last 18 months. i have lost all my friends (they were using me and betrayed my trust in a major way so i chose to walk away), and my boyfriend has decided he wants children (i've maintained all along that i do not, so this breakup is now inevitable and horribly heartbreaking for both of us). currently i enjoy my job, but its not worth staying here for after all this loss, particularly with an hour commute each way. i'm taking this as a sign that i need to leave my current location and find a new place to start fresh. everything here seems to fall apart on me and i'm just devastated and out of options... i dont want to stay in a place full of bad memories. perhaps the universe's way of telling me i need to go. my brother lives in denver, but he is not awake and we are honestly not that close right now so i'm not sure what kind of help i will get from him, but he's all i have outside of CT. i'm terrified of doing this because it requires quitting my job and hoping i can find another one there. i've never made a move like this before. i have no idea when i can manage to get myself to CO (the next couple months i'm guessing?), but i would love to get in touch with anyone who lives in the area who would be able to assist in this transition. specifically i'm looking for nice, but inexpensive apartments between boulder and denver (broomfield seems about right in the middle). i'm not really keen on living in cities. if you know of any, or currently live in one, i would love to hear from you! additionally, if you or someone you know has administrative needs, i currently do accounts payable as well as reception and assisting with estimating for a construction company. i also have assistant project management experience in the same field/company and have a bachelors degree in interior design (worked at an architecture firm designing native american hotels/casinos in my former career life prior to the 2008 crash). i am conscious, friendly, reliable and honest... and (obviously) very open minded, but a little wounded and insecure from recent experiences. just going to risk the last of what cash i have in an attempt to find a little peace and happiness in my life so i appreciate any help/advice/guidance i can get. so, thank you in advance! alchemarie@yahoo.com RE: anyone in the denver/boulder area? i need your help! - Melissa - 04-01-2014 Hi there! The only advice I can offer you, after experiencing similar situations is to wait (if you can), until you're able to be happy and feel at peace with yourself. No place, job, friend/family can ever provide that for you. If you enjoy your work perhaps you can take the time to reflect and find a teacher to assist you on finding that peace within, and save some money in the meantime. That way you're expanding your 'future' housing options aswell. I can relate to how you feel, these situations can be quite the challenge but it gets easier, and a lot more fun once you recognize the patterns (choice of relationships etc), the roots and your behavior. Good luck on deciding what's best for you, take care. RE: anyone in the denver/boulder area? i need your help! - michael430 - 04-05-2014 [deleted] |
