Analogies to LOO concepts in fiction - jivatman - 08-23-2012

Star Trek -
Prime Directive - The federation will not interfere with civilizations that haven't achieved a sufficient level of technology. Analogous to The Confederation's respect of free will.

Stargate -
Ascended beings will generally not interfere with humans. Analogous to Confederation's respect of free will.

Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series-
The One Power is the force of creation that good magic users use.
There are two sides, male and female. The Male aspect is tainted by the Dark One. Roughly analogous to the taint that has caused loss of lifespan on earth.

The True Power is the magic that evil magic users use. It's very similar to the One power, but comes directly from the dark one.
Similar to how STS is based on the force of the one creator and is open to all, but the True Power is subject to the Dark one's whim, just as STS is always a hierarchy, and one is at the mercy of those at the top.

In fact, according to the LOO, Intelligent energy is, in fact, separated into STS and STO, until united in mid-6th.

Ta'veren - Individuals who weave destiny around them. Analagous to LOO concept of Co-creation.

That's my start. I might think of more, and I know that some of you will find far more than these four.

Thanks for the thread OP, this is something I've been thinking about a lot. Ever since reading the Law of One books I seem to be able to find analogies in almost everything I watch or read or play. I'm often surprised to find fairly undistorted nuggets of the LOO in Comic books, which I consider to be thew mythic tales of our times BigSmile

our society makes two broad divisions of knowledge -

fact: that which is useful is manipulating physical matter, making our lives easier, more comfortable.

fiction: the stories that we tell ourself, considered as 'entertainment'.

however, the fiction that we find in movies, tv shows, books, and myth speaks more to our spiritual evolution than the 'facts' we use to manipulate and construct our consensus reality.
