NASA debunks 2012 myths - zenonzyta01 - 10-06-2009

HI Everyone,

The people making up the wild and crazy claims about "doomsday" in 2012 are grifters and liars. Some want your money (BUY MY BOOK!) and some just want notoriety. The claims themselves are nonsense. It is INSULTING to anyone with even a High School education in science that these people are allowed to espouse and print such ridiculous lies.
If I claimed that tomorrow the Sun would turn pink and bunnies would take over the world, you might suggest that I seek psychological help, yet when someone like Patrick Geryl says that "streams of positive ions will push the South Pole over making the Earth flip" like a pancake... or a crepe (he IS Belgian), you hardly EVER hear anyone say "Is he forgetting to take his meds?" It is just silly!
So often we hear people say "scientists say..." or "look at the evidence that civilizations collapse every 3600 years" when NOT ONE of these people have ever even taken a science class. That much is obvious. Please disregard any such statements and only treat claims with some citations as at all likely. For example there is a nice NASA site in astrobiology which debunks nearly ALL the 2012 claims very neatly... and don't forget Penn & Teller! They show, with a healthy dollop of humor, just how laughable all the hoaxers are.... I LOVED the guy with the styrofoam balls on the strings!
Don't worry about 2012. Worry about your kids growing up to be sociopaths or not growing up at all simply because you forget to buckle them in your car. Worry about the government selling mining rights to big oil companies that want to drill for Natural Gas within a mile of old atomic bomb tests. (If you live in Colorado... switch to electric stoves)
There are plenty of real things to scare you in this world, you don't have to make anything scary up.

I doubt any of the people here are scared... But thank you for your concerns. Smile

It is 'insulting' for someone with a western culture configured reality matrix. Not many others I'm sure
There are other realities at the same time, contradicting eachother. Who is right, who is wrong? None and both.

Love and light to you my friend. You never have to live in fear, if you chose to. I chose to not...

I'd like to suggest that Pen & Teller just like myth busters are television shows, they pretend to play by scientific rules but they usually miss them by either a short or long shot. You see this is entertainment. It is not substitution for education.

I personally find the ridiculing of those who think outside the box offensive. Not based on science. And really uncalled for.

Nasa is different though, they're not there to be entertaining. Could you link or PM me the Nasa site? I am of course very interested in any thorough debunking of my cherished beliefs... I've been this for so long that it doesn't happen very often anymore that my beliefs actually get debunked.

There are alternative ways of looking at the world. In the western reality tunnel we tend to look through a restrictive scientific vision. However science itself never claimed to be either exclusive or definite. And it was very much designed to ignore the spiritual side of life. It was designed for this. Concluding that the spirit side is therefore bunk is a fallacy. If you want we can look into the underlying philosophy. I've studied it on one of the oldest universities in Europe as part of a scientific education. And it's always remained one of my primary interests.

And yet, since all parts contains infinity, even the cold, logic science has the spark of god in it. They cannot run!!! BigSmile

To my knowledge, only quantum physics explicitly claims in it's axioms that they do not care about what makes the universe tick at a fundamental state. They define infinity as the Planck length and are finished there. It literally suggests that one Planck length is the smallest distance or size about which anything can be known.
Great way to solve the problem of infinitely large/small numbers that 'haunts' classic math, eh

I see what you did there... Wink

So far as our science goes, yes. Although I would hasten to add that Quantum physics is itself a very young area of study right now. It's changing frequently. So watch out if that Planck length becomes larger as the years go forward Wink

Hi zeonzyta! and welcome to Bring4th!

Gosh, I hope you didn't get the impression from our discussions that we fear 2012. We don't. There is much debate and speculation about how the Shift will occur - some think it will be sudden and others think it will be transitional - but those of us studying the Law of One generally see it as a positive thing - a Shift into a higher vibration. 2012 is just a demarcation for the end of a cycle and the beginning of a new cycle. I invite you to check out our discussions in the Harvest sub-forum, for more on 2012!

I quite agree with you that many people are capitalizing on 2012 and trying to turn into a hysteria. The Law of One philosophy promotes love instead of fear, so I'm in agreement with you that 2012 is not to be feared. I would even go further to say that even so-called 'scary' things can be met with love, rather than fear.

However, I don't think NASA is an expert on the metaphysical aspects of 2012.

peace

Fear is a funny thing, if you follow it, you get to the source. What is the world afraid of? Natural disasters? Not so much right? We spend millions on disaster prevention and billions in the military. Those disasters are annoying and sometimes terrifying but even the 2012 disaster groupies are mostly afraid of other people. Specifically the shadow government. The powers that be, the new world order or worse.. Reptiles!

I believe the major shift will be in consciousness. That silly 2012 disaster movie is certainly not part of my beliefs. Wink

Thanks Richard!
It's really primarily about Nibiru isn't it?

Ali,

Mostly…it seems. With a few comments thrown in about the galactic alignment, pole shift & solar storms thrown in at the very last.
