The Pendulum - BrownEye - 02-24-2012 Something I build as part of my hobbies are pendulums. There are a wide spectrum of uses, including wave detection. http://sciencedemonstrations.fas.harvard.edu/icb/icb.do?keyword=k16940&pageid=icb.page80863&pageContentId=icb.pagecontent341734&state=maximize&view=view.do&viewParam_name=indepth.html RE: The Pendulum - Unbound - 02-24-2012 Pendulums are fun! However, in all honesty I find them to be quite useful for myself since I have always been primarily an internal worker, so it's actually less accurate for me to use a medium like a pendulum often. RE: The Pendulum - BrownEye - 02-24-2012 Are you talking about divination? For that type of use it is only an amplifier. What are you amplifying? It is also possible to have a relationship with the deva. Really, it is a tool only, and the usefulness of a tool is dependant on the hand that wields it. My range of effectiveness driving a nail through a board is not that great with my bare hands. ![]() Did you check out the video? RE: The Pendulum - TheFifty9Sound - 02-24-2012 Epic. RE: The Pendulum - Diana - 02-25-2012 Really cool. Is there a mathematical equation for the setup of the different pendulums? RE: The Pendulum - BrownEye - 02-25-2012 Quote:The period of one complete cycle of the dance is 60 seconds. The length of the longest pendulum has been adjusted so that it executes 51 oscillations in this 60 second period. The length of each successive shorter pendulum is carefully adjusted so that it executes one additional oscillation in this period. Thus, the 15th pendulum (shortest) undergoes 65 oscillations. When all 15 pendulums are started together, they quickly fall out of sync—their relative phases continuously change because of their different periods of oscillation. However, after 60 seconds they will all have executed an integral number of oscillations and be back in sync again at that instant, ready to repeat the dance. RE: The Pendulum - Unbound - 02-25-2012 No, I don't really use it for anything, because I cannot think of anything to use it for, besides, as you say, speaking with its intelligence, but even then that's not something I commonly need to do. That being largely due to the fact that I have other stones which I commune with more regularly. ![]() |
