Following the traditions of one culture without any regard for their doctrinal truths is not a spiritual undertaking. It is obedience to what you have been taught. Obeying religious rules and teachings out of some belief that there may be a penalty for disobedience cannot be considered seeking the spiritual aspect of the human experience. Yes, there are many practitioners who have reached higher degrees of spiritual awareness within the right hand path, and it is at these higher levels of inner realization that they begin to turn away from the right hand path and begin to seek the things of the left hand.
