The choice was Plan International's. They chose a female to protest sex-selective abortion. I'd guess they found significance in the meaning of the name. Maybe.
I just pointed it out. It was probably one of those indicators of the collective unconscious, if there is such a thing.

As this planet has never hosted so many 3D beings before, they had to have been 2Ders last time, or they are from some other place. Do we know whether the Confeds are bringing them over mostly from one planet, as with Maldek or Mars, or from widely scattered systems? Or are they all Wanderers, bumping into each other looking for the odd native 3Der to assist?
