Recommend Voice Recognition Software - Brian - 04-05-2009

If some of you have used computer Voice Recognition programs, will you tell which version, and if it performed well?
Is it usable by more than one person, or can it only recognise one voice?
Must it be used in a silent room?

In the past I have used Microsoft's Speech API for voice recognition in programs. It requires programming knowledge to implement. It is fairly accurate given the amount of time you take in adjusting the program for your voice. I haven't used it in a long time, so the newer versions may be a lot better and easier to use.

If you want an already built program for voice recognition, there are a lot of options. The only commercial programs I have tried are Dragon NaturallySpeaking ones. They work pretty well, and do support multiple profiles for multiple voices.
