How many of you read all 5 books ? - unity100 - 01-27-2011

im wondering how many people read all 5 books ?

RE: How many of you read all 5 books ? - Eddie - 01-27-2011

I have. I have read the first 3 3 times, book 4 twice, and book 5 once.

I think I've read everything in the LLResearch Library, except for the Esmerelda Sweetwater book.

By the way, for those lurkers who may be reading this, the "Brown Notebook" texts are a real treasure. We don't talk about them much...but we ought to.

Me. I'm rereading them all in order now as well. Once I finish, I'm going to try to read them again but take notes.

As soon as my mother let me borrow the first four books, I ate them up in about two weeks. I read the fifth online a few days after that. Now I always have them at hand, randomly flipping to pages all the time, just to see what I can dig up.

Whenever I return to the Law of One after reading or researching some other subject extensively, I find it easier to understand, and more able to shine new light on the concepts of which Ra speaks.

2 weeks??? Wow. It took me a whole year to get thru the 1st 4 books + Secrets of the UFO. (This was in 1985 and Book V wasn't out yet...that came later and went a lot faster.) 1-2 sessions per day was about all I could digest at a time. I had to keep putting the book down, because the intense light coming from it kept blowing my mind so much that I would have been totally fried, had I tried to read any faster. Wink

Since then, I've re-read and referred to portions of all the books numerous times, but here and there, not necessarily in their entirety or in sequence. I have the most trouble understanding the latter half of Book IV.

I couldn't put them down! It was as if every question I ever had about life had just been handed to me in four convenient Q&A style books. It resonated so strongly that my doubts about the idea of channeling itself were put to the side, and I didn't care whether I had any verification of the source of the information. After I finished, I started a journey to verify channeling ET entities for my own, and I figured the only real way to do that was to experience it myself. And now my life is turned upside down compared to what it used to be. It has been, to say the least, surreal. This has all happened in the past 8 months, too Smile

I agree, Book IV is hard for me to get through. I expect the Egyptian Tarot is a great way to learn about living life and using catalyst most efficiently, but it just does not resonate with me very well.

it wasnt even weeks for me for doing the first 3 books. in the first run it generally ends up like that.

RE: How many of you read all 5 books ? - Peregrinus - 01-27-2011

I read them all online, one session per evening. I have re-read parts I did not fully comprehend the first time.

RE: How many of you read all 5 books ? - Lorna - 01-27-2011

printing them out, and reading them as a book (without no electromagnetic interference from monitors/devices) would be helpful in a multitude of ways.

RE: How many of you read all 5 books ? - Eddie - 01-27-2011

It took me about 3 months to get through my first reading (books 1-4). I read them online and couldn't manage more than one chapter per evening. This is principally due to Ra's language; it is dense, idiosyncratic, and often ridiculously florid; some of it is so elaborate, as to appear evasive. I often had to read a sentence 4,5, or 6 times to understand it; sometimes even then I couldn't. I found the second reading to be more satisfactory than the first.

RE: How many of you read all 5 books ? - Shemaya - 01-27-2011

I haven't read it in any organized fashion, but I 'm pretty sure I have almost all of the first four books, and less of the fifth book. I ,too, found the language a bit difficult.

I started with the study guide.

I read some of The Brown Notebook Eddie, I really liked it.

And I am most drawn to the most recent channelings of Q'uo, partly because I like more current information, and partly because I resonate more with Carla's energy, I think, and her balance of love/wisdom/power. Though Don Elkins was brilliant in his questioning of Ra.

RE: How many of you read all 5 books ? - Aaron - 01-27-2011

I'm in the same boat as you, Eddie, having to read some sentences or passages twice or more in order to fully comprehend them.

I haven't even read all the Ra material. When I first found it, I read only a couple sessions, then posted here in a hurry due to such an extremely strong resonance. There's so much contained in the material, that if I were to read it all in a couple of weeks, most of it would be lost! What I've read up to this point consists of what I've found time to read outside of my visits here, and what has been linked on these forums. So, I've probably read about 3 books worth, with a few pages of material skipped here and there.

huh, maybe I should read more! Tongue

I love all of this stuff, but what I find most amazing is (was) Don's ability to grasp the concepts so quickly. When reading the material, it appears seamless; Ra answers, and Don follows immediately with another pertinent and intelligent question. It must rank as one of the great intellectual performances in all of human history.

I dearly wish I could have met Don and known him personally. Ironically, I was living within easy driving distance of Don, Carla and Jim when the material was channeled, but was unaware of their existence. I guess the Universe provides us our lessons when we are most ready for them.:-/

RE: How many of you read all 5 books ? - Brittany - 01-27-2011

I read the first four in a very short period of time, but I stalled out somewhere during the fifth one and it took me a long time to finish. I actually read 101 before touching any of the Ra Material, which was actually quite helpful in understand what the heck they were talking about half the time. By the time I got to Book 4, I was having to re-read everything several times because it made no sense to me, especially the very scientific parts. Several words I actually had to look up in the dictionary, but it was still a great read.

Read all 5 once. Read and listened to the first 4 once. Read the Study guide once. Got the most understanding out of the study guide- puts everything together nicely.

RE: How many of you read all 5 books ? - Lorna - 01-28-2011

i found reading hard copies made a huge difference @ndy - i read the study guide online and then ordered the books, looking back i remember reading the study guide for what seemed like a long time but the books, it felt like i absorbed them iyswim? very different experience

RE: How many of you read all 5 books ? - AnthroHeart - 01-28-2011

I've read all of them online. Though can't say I was paying attention the whole time. Sometimes at parts I nodded off. Might be a good exercise to go over them again.

RE: How many of you read all 5 books ? - unity100 - 01-28-2011

i advise printing the books out, and reading them in a calm, silent place at times when you dont have much stress, when you can concentrate. difference will be noticeable.

RE: How many of you read all 5 books ? - AnthroHeart - 01-28-2011

Sounds good. I just ordered the first 3 books as a bundle from Amazon. I'll do the other two later.

THAT changed my mentality REALLY nicely ! ! B-)

Blue skies.

RE: How many of you read all 5 books ? - kycahi - 02-01-2011

I read the first one, then set it aside for maybe three weeks and went at it again. I made donations to L/L Research and waited for each next volume to come out. It seemed like each one left me hanging. Huh Kind of similar to waiting for the next Harry Potter. BigSmile

I re-read them about three times and then realized that I had questions that the material had answered somewhere, but I hadn't pieced it together as I needed to. So I abandoned my habit of keeping the books pristine and got busy with my highlight marker. I needed to do that before the 7 levels of consciousness settled in, and now they are the base on which I assemble most concepts.

Book 5 was a pleasant surprise, having been teased all those years about what they left out.

RE: How many of you read all 5 books ? - Clif - 02-02-2011

I read books 1-4 in 1985. I would receive a new one in the mail and reads it that night. I have read them all ( including book 5 now) maybe 4 or 5 times over the years.

This thread, along with a nudge from guidance, prompted me to do just that. It has helped me re-seat my intention and focus at an important time in my life, and I thank you for that, unity100. Smile

RE: How many of you read all 5 books ? - Plenum - 01-22-2012

I've read them, and re-read them all the time.

These days, it's mostly at lawofone.info because I can access it at work and on my mobile fairly discreetly BigSmile

When I first came across the material, I could barely make it halfway through a session; there was so much new language, and the concepts were quite unique. My brain needed time to download and digest.

I developed a habit of just jumping into a random session, starting at a random spot. Let the Wheel of Fortune do it's thing lol.

that's still my approach today.

Book 4 took a while to warm up. I came into the LOO without any knowledge of the tarot, and those last sessions can be quite arcane and detailed. It really is the topping on the cake, and is fine nourishment for the adept who is ready.

other books have come and gone in my life; some read just the once and barely remembered. Along with JS Bach's Well Tempered Klavier, this is one of those texts that I have programmed my mind with. It is the highest vibration material that I know of in existence in the English Language at this present time.

hats off to you Ra; this is food for the soul.
