Killing Pests - seren88 - 02-24-2022

Hello everyone!

This might seem like such a bizzare question to ask, but there seem to be human encyclopaedia's here who are able to link super helpful channeling/quotes and I am hoping someone could help me out here.

Personal opinions also welcome!

Since I was a kid I've been a huge animal lover and never squished anything that came into the house, spiders, wasps etc. I would catch them and take them outside. When I was 16 I worked in a clothes shop and we had a mouse issue. I came to work one day and found they laid those really horrible mouse traps all around the shop where they decapitate them, I begged my boss to let me leave the till so I could try and save them, I was determined I could catch them. She agreed, and I did manage to catch at least 3 or 4 with my hands and a towel and set them free in another part of town.

(Just giving some context as to where this question comes from).

Over the last few years I've been learning how to garden, I have all potted plants outside, and lots of house plants. I try and use all natural pesticides etc where I can, but I've battled with various infestations..........OH HOW I DESPISE SLUGS AND SNAILS (I try not to, but their destructive power is immense, not to mention they are gross), but still I have fought with not wanting to kill them as they have every right to be alive. I tried natural repellers, everything, losing several of my plants in the process. I just had to give up and use those horrid pellets to get on top of them. I was also worried about the birds eating them so I tried to send out an intention in my garden, warning the birds not to eat them.

Ants are another issue, and in my house I've got a serious battle with gnats in my house plants and Im constantly killing them by various means, or they will destroy my plants.

I don't like killing anything, but I have to in order to keep my plants alive.

Am I building karma by doing this?  Omg

I try and say sorry every time I kill something, but I'm not always present and sometimes I am just really annoyed when I do the fateful 'squish'.

I'm sorry this isn't a very 'thought provoking spiritual topic' but it really bothers me.

You can imagine the kind of responses I get from most people.................. RollEyes

**Edit**: I have read about trying to connect with them and asking them to stay away/meditation to try and an establish a connection...............I'm not any good at it clearly, this does not work for me.

Thanks!

Hi Seren88 and welcome. This is great questioning regarding 3D life on Earth. There has been much discussion here on the subject of how to treat our 2D brothers and sisters. Here is one recent thread that deals with cockroaches:

https://www.bring4th.org/forums/showthread.php?tid=19403&highlight=kill

I live in Arizona outside the city. There is a lot of wildlife around me, which makes it impossible to have an outdoor garden or the deer and little rabbits and squirrels will get it all. Smile So I am laying a paved patio and will be putting a greenhouse on it. My point is, briefly, wherever you live, there should be some solutions that support living in harmony with your environment.

Also, there are many organic farmers who seem to be able to deal with this sort of problem, although I don't know how kind they are to the little insects. You may have already researched that. Anyway good luck.

Greetings seren88,

If you can, could you for exemple get tiny rosemary plants or seeds and surround this way your vegetable garden ? Slugs and snails hate their smell.
The great thing about rosemary is that it grows fast and then you can pick some leaves and make a water spray of them and spray with it both around and on your vegetables…

Those little snails and slugs definitely hate the smell so much you don’t have to plant them so close . Lol

Good luck !!

Diana, that green house sounds very exciting …

I am with you, Seren88. All of my life I have felt a strong compassion for plants and animals so much so that I was termed "very sensitive." When I was little, I'd cry easily if a tree were cut down, for instance. I laugh when I think of my parents figuring out how to live with me. They hung in there with their very sensitive child.

Fast forward to now, I try to relocate as many insects and critters as I can. However, we have really bad fire ants here. And you don't see them, and they are all over you stinging in seconds. They can be fierce here. They swarmed and attacked me and others one too many times. I could not walk out into my yard - and neither could my dogs or guests - without being viciously attacked.

I have yet to find a way to peacefully co-exist with fire ants.  Disappointed

I like flofrog's ideas of deterrents for the snails and slugs. Can you wear gloves and hand-pick them off of your plants, and relocate them to another area of your garden where they can live out their little lives and do their thing? I seem to remember copper is a deterrent to snails and slugs???

RE: Killing Pests - flofrog - 02-24-2022

Lol IndigoSalvia, fire ants are like… not really friendly, lol

I have a friend from India who once said to me, about simple ants who like my house when the weather becomes rainy or cold, to talk to the ‘chief’ deva of ants and say
Chief Deva, would you ask this group of ants to relocate for me outside my home?

I have to say I did it twice and in the matter of two the first time, six hours the second, it happened… lol

I will ask, flofrog. Worth a try. Cheese

Your choice to use. Fire Ant Killer

Back in 2020 I had an ant infestation in my vegetable garden. I did my research on a safe way to remove them. I couldn't find anything. One day I had a dream that showed a label similar to the Fire Ant Killer bottle. I then saw a man squatting while looking down at some bricks that are in my backyard. One could say that my higher self gave me the idea to find exactly what I needed to get rid of the problem as well as where exactly the infestation was. One could also say that why would higher self give an option that would create death.

I personally wonder why a 6th-density higher-self would promote killing any beings. We do solve problems in our dreams with just our 3D minds, so maybe that was just your mind.

Our 2nd density selves will always return in another form with a new understanding. The body can die, the mind continues infinitely.

What about 3D selves, humans? Would you kill a human, or a pet if it became inconvenient? We also will return—somewhere—with new understanding. I don't mean to sound judgmental, I just don't see the difference between life forms and respecting their right to live out their lives.

The way I see it is humans just keep encroaching on the habitats and environments of 2D life, for our own convenience. We (humans) do not, for the most part, live in harmony with other life, and the journey to 4D and compassion I don't imagine would only be for us (humancentric) and not other life forms, in my opinion.  It is part of who I am to advocate for our 2D brothers and sisters when it comes up. This is just the way I see things, so I mean no disrespect to anyone here.

For a moment I thought about retaliation. I could say other words so that you could see this another way. However, this is the old me. I am here to come into a new understanding and therefore will remain powerless.

Thank You

I'm not sure I understand what you are saying. You are definitely not powerless and I am always open to hearing the viewpoints of others, as I hope everyone here is open to hearing mine.

RE: Killing Pests - MonadicSpectrum - 02-24-2022

Personally, I'm all about relocating uninvited guests where it is easy to do so. However, there are some cases where this is not easily accomplished such as fast moving flying bugs or if they reproduce quicker than you can catch them. It's not wise to have a dwelling that is full of unclean creatures, and sometimes that means killing is required.

When assessing morality and karmic implications, I recommend asking the question, "What would happen if everyone did this?" If everyone kills bugs all the time, perhaps it could imbalance the environment or lead some species to extinction. If everyone avoids killing bugs and pests, perhaps the creatures would take over many homes spreading disease and uncleanliness. However, if we balance killing and relocating, then we can try to have the best of both worlds.

It is difficult to generalize right and wrong in every possible situation so it is best to analyze the trade offs in each unique context. Sometimes it might be best to relocate bugs or let them cohabitate with you. Sometimes it might be best to kill the pests.

Thanks everyone!

You will have to bare with me as a learn the tricks for forum posting, I have no idea how quote something someone said like the above, so I will reply individually.

Diana & IndigoSalvia- thanks so much for the link. I haven't had a chance to read it yet, but that's the kind of thing I was looking for. I live in rented accommodation so not allow to modify anything really. Outside I have a really really small concrete patio area, but I grow lots of plants in pots out there- it's surprising how much you can actually fit into a small space.

I live in a terraced house, it's a terraces street in the city, and if I stick my head out the window upstairs, as far as I can see either side I am the only person who is interested in plants, all I can see is rubbish in concrete yards essentially, no green gardens. It's quite a studenty area where I live. I think that's part of the issue, is that my plants are probably the only decent food source for quite a while around, so EVERYTHING flocks to my tiny little space. At least it feels that way.

I was picking up snails and slugs and throwing them over the wall (into some bush type things that sort of divides all the houses) but of course they all just come back. I kind of don't have the time to be re-homing 20-30 snails/slugs every morning and night. :/

Ive been thinking about maybe trying to grow some lettuce or something they like to eat, and keep it at the far end a bit further away from my plants and leave them feast on that, but Im worried it will just bring more in. I suppose it won't hurt to try.

Flofrog: I didn't know about rosemary and oddly haven't come across that in my research, I will get several plant pots of it growing for sure! Thank you!

Quincunx: That link is awesome! I wish I had known about that a whole lot sooner! I probably lean more towards feeling like I do unfortunately need to kill off one form of 2nd density being to keep my other 2nd density beings alive. (Love vs Wisdom?) My plants can't move or defend themselves, I've decided to grow them and feel like it's my duty to keep them alive (but obviously I am torn hence being here asking for peoples thoughts etc).

I have a solid natural homemade pesticide that I use for aphids etc, which doesn't harm bees & butterflies, so Im chuffed I've got that.

MonadicSpectrum- I like how you've put it, I reflected on this for a while, and so on the bigger picture of this predicament I am in, growing my plants works wonders for my mental health. I get really frustrated and upset when they die off/ are struggling when I am trying to find a way to not kill pests. I have tried different ways to avoid doing this, the copper tape doesn't work because i live in the UK where it rains all the time, it's effective for a few days then just loses it's efficacy. And I don't have time to manually remove them, Im not talking a few a day here, my little area gets really swamped.

It's actually in my benefit and my plants' benefit (who are another 2D life form) for me to deal with the issue effectively. I will keep trying, maybe growing something they can specifically eat in one spot, and growing some rosemary in pots around my other plants might just turn the tide.

I sort of had a weird thought today as well when reflecting on all of this. I am sure you're all aware about Russia invading Ukraine, and thought it's kind of a luxury to be having this kind of problem to worry about. There are much much much bigger issues people are facing.

Thank you everyone for your input Smile

Much appreciated!
