)They first speak about how we have been conditioned to accept the outer standard "truths" of the culture we grow up in. And then about the seeker of spiritual truths and not to get swept up in the intellectual and rationalization of those metaphysical and philosophical topics - and never to forget the resonance (take what resonates and leave the rest) and the "inner journey" - as the saying goes, the truth lies within every one of us.
This is probably when we first start searching we look outside for things that appeal to us, doctrines and spiritual religions or channelings and the like. Because in our culture the truths that everyone agreed upon were imposed on us from outside - parents, society, school etc
Whereas the true journey, the spiritual one, should ultimately lead us within to the source of infinite love and wisdom inside each and every being.
And to the silence

Winter is such a wonderfully mysterious time, although it is usually met with depression from me. The first passage really hit me because much of my troubles in the winter revolve around past relationships of childhood and family. Looks like it is in the air! Not just me!
