Talk of aliens in the news lately - Lavazza - 04-30-2010
I'm sure many of you have noticed there has been some buzz in the news about aliens.
Stephen Hawking has a new documentary series in which he theorizes about intelligent alien life (working from the mainstream idea that we haven't had any contact of course). I found his ideas on the matter a little disappointing. His overall message is that we should not try and advertise our existence in the universe because aliens would probably be hostile towards us:

The up side is that people are thinking about aliens at all, I guess (?)
Almost in balance of this was a very inspiring talk by a SETI scientist at TED that I found last night:

I don't know if this sort of media buzz is in any way related to UFO disclosure or other news. One can hope!

Also NASA has found methane on Mars which is believed to be produced by living bacteria (= aliens)
