I know that's not where you want to be - AnthroHeart - 03-17-2015 Can someone explain this scene from the Matrix to me? He has been down that road before, but why wouldn't he want to be down it again? He knows exactly where it ends. What does that mean? RE: I know that's not where you want to be - isis - 03-17-2015 One road is back to reality as he knew it (leaving the car) & the other road (staying in the car & being compliant) is obviously the road to the (endless) rabbit hole. RE: I know that's not where you want to be - Bluebell - 03-17-2015 they should have stopped after the first movie. RE: I know that's not where you want to be - Bluebell - 03-17-2015 the only person i empathised w in the first part was Cypher because he knew the rabbit hole is an endless headache. Thanks. I thought the end of the road was death, but I couldn't see any reason for him to have died. My new nickname for you is Bluepill. "Why oh why didn't I take the BLUE pill?" -Cypher RE: I know that's not where you want to be - AnthroHeart - 03-17-2015 If reality was the Matrix I probably would rather remain ignorant too. If there were no higher density to aspire to. RE: I know that's not where you want to be - AngelofDeath - 03-17-2015 It means he would return to seeking, and thus return to confusion and being lost. Neo was looking for Morpheus (higher self) and they were taking Neo to him. If he had've left, it would have been like trying to ignore one's own process of awakening and a return to the cycles of ignorant living. Thus, Neo had to have faith that he was being lead to the truth in order to contact Morpheus. Everything had to be by his own choice, that is the only way someone's mind can be properly freed from the Matrix. RE: I know that's not where you want to be - isis - 03-17-2015 He knew exactly where one road would take him & the other not so much. He chose the unknown over comfort. RE: I know that's not where you want to be - Bluebell - 03-17-2015 comfort is underappreciated. RE: I know that's not where you want to be - AnthroHeart - 03-17-2015 I question whether or not I am really "awake". RE: I know that's not where you want to be - AnthroHeart - 03-17-2015 Truth reminds me of this: RE: I know that's not where you want to be - AngelofDeath - 03-17-2015 (03-17-2015, 08:42 PM)Bluebell Wrote: truth is subjective. Opinions about truth are subjective. Truth is truth. I don't mean "facts". I only acknowledge one single truth, and that is unity. This truth is perceived in an infinite number of ways and that is the 'subjective' truth. RE: I know that's not where you want to be - isis - 03-17-2015 'Truth' is a loaded word. RE: I know that's not where you want to be - AngelofDeath - 03-17-2015 Also, comfort for me is like water. You always appreciate it more when you haven't had enough of it. The road is the same hum drum existence he's always known. To do the same thing over and over again, and expect different results is insanity. To grow, you have to pursue the unknown, else face eternal stagnation. Then again, anyone who stagnates for long enough will eventually come to long for change very intensely, so interestingly, being in a repetitive environment naturally eventually stirs up the very energy needed to break out of the box of ordinary. This has metaphysical implications, too, and is one of the main reasons why the trance state allows you to cross reality boundaries. A certain energy is stirred up by repetition which allows opportunities to change to manifest. To go further in depth, you could say that she is a symbol of his higher self or guide.
