RE: The mysterious nature of time - Ruth - 07-09-2012 -- "It is not within my power to change how an other behaves with me or in a given situation. What I can exercise control and will over is how I behave in any situation. I have power over only my behavior." This is exactly the principle I have taught my children, indeed, any children I've had the opportunity to influence. It's a very deep realization. Would also share the "platinum rule" which has become more of a sales tool, but flows a bit with the discussion you are having here. http://www.alessandra.com/abouttony/aboutpr.asp RE: The mysterious nature of time - Confused - 07-09-2012 (07-09-2012, 11:50 AM)Ruth Wrote: http://www.alessandra.com/abouttony/aboutpr.asp I think I belong to the Relaters category. What about you, Ruth? This looks like one great way for Time to reduce to the Now and for Space to reduce to the Here. http://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/all-about-sex/201202/when-it-comes-sex-women-know-best http://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/the-healing-arts/200809/telling-without-talking-breaking-the-silence-domestic-violence RE: The mysterious nature of time - Ruth - 07-09-2012 I believe that I am actually a balance of all the categories, perhaps with a bit more of the relater. I'm pretty adaptable, can take charge if necessary, I can be very organized and analytical, and although I am not at all controlling, I am a bit of an achiever - though on my own terms of my own goals. I was thinking today that perhaps your Mother has set for you an example of loving your abuser. Perhaps I'm wrong, but that's what I get from what you have said here. I sincerely appreciate your open honesty, and your persistent presence here, Confused. RE: The mysterious nature of time - Plenum - 07-09-2012 yeah, good luck with things Confused. How you relate to your mother affects how you relate to all feminine energies. RE: The mysterious nature of time - Confused - 07-09-2012 (07-09-2012, 04:42 PM)Ruth Wrote: I was thinking today that perhaps your Mother has set for you an example of loving your abuser. Very true, Ruth. My mother has indeed set the example of a person who can still love a most vile abuser. However, no one should allow oneself to be abused in the name of sacrifice and love. It finally ends counterproductive for all. I feel for my mother who ended up being treated and frightened badly by her own son. I have displayed manic mood swings and deep frightening violent temper. May be probably bi-polar disorder type. However, she still serves her son with patience and hope, believing all will get well. A son who just refuses to grow up despite almost coming close to middle age. Though, I do not wish to wallow in self-pity and self-loathing in the form of excessive admittance of one's ways of errors, I do feel that this thread is serving as a ray of healing for me and helping me mend my ways. I am being provided with very honest feedback from valuable friends here and it is helping me consciously track myself and catch myself as I interact with my mother. As Ra, study of love and light is at the heart of evolution and I think we are all doing that together well here! ![]() ![]() (07-09-2012, 04:45 PM)plenum Wrote: yeah, good luck with things Confused. We were given the greatest gift in the history of mankind. We were given this magic ball and it says: "Imagine what you will and you can have it", and we're so primitive, we have so many fears that we carry with us, that we manifest the worst in us rather than the best in us....and that ain't gonna change. BETH Maybe we still have it. NORMAN What? BETH The power. (beat) Maybe we still have the power to manifest what we will. NORMAN If we do still have the power... (off her look) Then we have the power to forget. To manifest a world in which we don't have the power. Source: Quotes from the movie, Sphere (1998). You must be filling the cooked food with immense love after all, for your fortunate loved ones. I would be so happy if my higher self said the following to me and I would know love. Probably I am being sentimental, mawkish and dependent - I agree. I am dependent on the universe to feel whole, to feel loved and to lose the fear of life that currently reigns in me, keeping me awake at nights. I am vulnerable. Yes. Meerie - I can relate to your relating. ![]() And now - the effects of death and fear over time. I just found this article this morning, looking for gardening information. The article discusses the effects on the soil of killing various insects. Very interesting! "Each one of those places is going to behave totally differently from a microbial point of view. What you are seeing is the legacy of all that has died there." Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.' We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we're liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others. -- Marianne Williamson RE: The mysterious nature of time - Confused - 07-15-2012 http://jungianwork.wordpress.com/2009/11/24/on-gratitude-and-thanksgiving-a-jungian-perspective/ RE: The mysterious nature of time - Confused - 07-16-2012 Quote:Jack: Where to, Miss?
