Homecoming 2012 Update Thread - Steppingfeet - 08-26-2012

A longtime good friend of L/L’s is unable to make the Homecoming this year due to a sluggish bureaucratic Visa process. In light of this and to participate from afar, she requested that a thread be created on Bring4th offering the attendees of L/L Research’s 2012 Homecoming Gathering the opportunity to post either live updates, reflections on their experience, or information regarding their presentation. She plans on tuning into the proceedings through this means, receiving the updates and interacting where possible.

Thus is born the Homecoming Update Thread. This thread will go live on Wednesday, August 29th. (Homecoming kicks off August 31 and runs to September 2.) Everyone attending will have the opportunity to contribute their thoughts before, during, and after the gathering. Hopefully some will take the opportunity.

Attendees, please feel free to share some of your experience with this thread! And Bring4th members not present at Homecoming, please feel free to exchange energy with the attendees! Hopefully we’ll get to see some of you next year, third-density willing. : )

Yours, GLB

RE: Homecoming 2012 Update Thread - Pupak - 08-30-2012

Thanks to the thread here and the posts I know I am a part of the circle and the gathering. It is wonderful for me to reconnect with L/L gathering.

For me the day started with messages from friends in Sweden about a forest on Gotland Island called Ojnare needing help to be saved from a mining company. They started clear-cutting trees three days ago. Protesters are hiding among the trees to stop the clear cut of the ancient woodland. They managed to slow down, but not stop the tree-cuttings. I spent half of the day writing letters and networking for Onjare Forest in Gotland. Getting the word out and rallying help to stop this very sensitive ecology from getting wiped out. I then organised a Forest Garden Day here in my community , the aim being creating a network of interconnected gardens to meet our entire food needs from within our locality. Next I will work on a website to host SEEDFreedom Fortnightly Campaign, promoted by International Permaculture Day, that Vandana Shiva started from 2-16 October for the Farsi readers to help us gain our food security through use and share of Open Pollinated Seeds. I think the Great Spirit had plans for me. I accept that I need to be here, and connected with you. What a great Gift Smile My spirit is Soaring in the sky over Louisville.

Whew. It's hot here. Ken and I just hung the lights in the tent, and I'm wringing wet.Sad

RE: Homecoming 2012 Update Thread - Parsons - 08-30-2012

Yeah I just looked at the 4 day forecast for when I'll be there and it looks like I'll be the desert rat caught in the swamp. Oh well, I'm mentally preparing myself for that already. If I can convince myself I'm not uncomfortable outside in 115 degree dry heat, I can convince myself I'm not uncomfortable in 80-90 degree humid heat.

I moved from a dry climate to a humid climate 13 years ago and I'm still bitter about it Tongue

Almost done packing...leaving early in the morning to meet JustLikeYou in Knoxville and then we'll be bringing the rain with us BigSmile

RE: Homecoming 2012 Update Thread - Pupak - 08-31-2012

Hi Gary, I just sent a greeting letter for the circle tonight. could you check your mailbox before 6.30? thanks.

RE: Homecoming 2012 Update Thread - Eddie - 08-31-2012

Well, we made it out to Sergio's last night. That place is like the Vatican Library of beers. When the proprietor found out what I was after, he took me into the back into a hidden walk-in cooler, and then to the back of that, where there was a door with a digital lock...he punched in the code, and we entered another cooler which held his secret stash of ultra-rare exotic Belgian specialties...a couple of which I consumed with dinner..BigSmile

A good time was had by all in attendance.

Lots of people are scheduled to filter in today. Looks like Hurricane Isaac will filter in too; we're expecting a good bit of rain this weekend.Confused

RE: Homecoming 2012 Update Thread - Pupak - 08-31-2012

Do they do any local beers @ Sergio? Does anyone even talk about local foods and food miles over there? I wonder & wander.

Eddie, glad you had a great time with that rare beer. I can't drink because of my meds (I get dizzy), but I wish you all well.

Yes, they have a few (Bluegrass Brewing Company, etc). Being relatively local myself, I wasn't interested in those, so I didn't pay much attention. I was on the hunt for Belgian exotica.

Quite a few more people have arrived now, including some old friends. We are all busy pitching in, assembling the printed materials, cooking, etc.

RE: Homecoming 2012 Update Thread - Pupak - 08-31-2012

I am sitting down to enter the silence and join the homecomers at L/L. Here's my greeting letter I sent to Gary to be shared in the circle in a few minutes now:

Hello Homecomers, Wanderers, Seekers of the Law of One,

I am Pupak and am joining you from Forest Row in England. Thanks to our technology and to Gary's dedicated work I can connect with you and re-join the energy at L/L. I rejoice at our connection and this opportunity to share energy.

I understand it's been hot in Louisville and you expect a weekend of rain. Whatever the weather I know you will lift the sky to peek the depth of mysteries and return to soar in the heart of love. I remember a vivid dream given to me two years ago when I so much wanted to be part of the circle physically but again could not travel. I was standing at the edge of a cliff. A guide was standing behind me. I could not see his face but could hear his voice. He prompted me to jump. 'No' I said, I cannot. 'Jump' he said. 'How?' I asked. The next thing I knew I was free-floating towards the sun. It was the most golden experience I have ever had, purer than snow, more heavenly than music, more delicious than any earth-food. I still feed from the golden hues my dream-body revealed to me. A journey to the heart-of-the-sun, what a gift! This is what a home-coming feels like.

I trust in the spirit that I am here for a reason. As Wangari Maathai, the Kenyan tree-planter used to say, do your very best. I am given good work to do here. You will hear more from me tomorrow afternoon when my husband Peter will join me to share our work with Open Pollinated Seeds. This is our gift to you to fructify the tree of your lives freely and abundantly. I am sure I will receive many gifts from this weekend to keep me going for another season until I re-unite with L/L family physically. Please keep me connected in the circle through the forum. I am reading closely.

Till we meet tomorrow - I am with you in heart and spirit.

in love & light

Sounds amazing. I resonate very much with the sun. I'd like to visit it in astral some day, perhaps in time/space.

RE: Homecoming 2012 Update Thread - Parsons - 08-31-2012

There are a couple of things I feel compelled to express here, (partially because I am so nervous to speak in front of so many peopleBlush). Actually, it's more of a disclaimer than anything. I have some sort of speach impediment or SOME kind of verbal communication problem. When I have time to sit down and write out a post such as this, it becomes difficult or impossible to notice this; hence why I love using this medium. Among the many things I feel I have "fixed" about my life is accepting this annoying yet ultimately irrelevant handicap.

I also am dreadfully bad at small talk, which usually results in me being seeming to be all quiet, awkward and/or brooding. Yet when someone says something that I find extraordinarily interesting, I suddenly find my voice. So apologies if I seem to eavesdrop on everyone and abruptly jump in to your conversation. Or apologies if you, say, compliment me on my tattoos Wink as a conversation starter and I just sort of respond with monosyllable answers.

But above all I wish to express what a joy it is to share these few days with everyone, even if I feel sort of awkward around groups of people. I love all of you, present at homecoming or otherwise.Heart

RE: Homecoming 2012 Update Thread - Brittany - 09-01-2012

Your speech seemed perfectly fine to me, Parsons.

My favorite part of the evening was having a random prolific conversation with Aaron and Xise on Carla's basement steps. You never know when or where some sort of existential discussion is going to crop up.

Great post Parsons!

Wish I was there with y'all joining the festivities, how is the weather? Will send some intention to keep the skies bright for you!

greetings to those who are not able to join us in Louisville. it is my pleasure to be here for the first time and meet many of the folks who are connected with L/L Research.

thank you, Pupak, for what you shared with us. Gary read your message in the circle earlier this morning. i look forward to your presentation.

i wish that Lorena was here. this gathering feels incomplete to me without an opportunity for us to meet in person after volunteering together for the past few years.

Love & Light,

RE: Homecoming 2012 Update Thread - Pupak - 09-01-2012

While you guys move into the depth of TM meditation with Julee, I want to share a great news I just heard from the Ojnare Forest on Gotland Island in Sweden. I don't know if you all are in on the picture, but I shared a small snippet yesterday on the forum, that I was busy here campaigning to stop the clear-cutting of trees on this ecologically sensitive area in Sweden. The loggers have moved in 5 days ago. I am part of a shamanic group whose animal totem is the Loon bird, which connects me in a sweet and mysterious way to the Law of One again, the acronym being the same - anyway the Loons were alerted about the loggers moving in, and we started getting active. Now in only 4 days I heard that they stopped cutting the trees ... hurrrayy!! The matter had gotten international attention, the regional council were pleading with the company to stop, and what actually stopped the operation was not the company but the loggers who were doing the job on the ground! Vow! Tomorrow night there will be a vigil across Sweden in which we will join too, to light candles for the trees that were cut down and the 244 endangered species in the region. And we will have to stay watchful because of course the mining company wants to move back in again.

This is such a joyful news that I wanted to share with you.

just checked my fb page and found that my friend Jonathan Horwitz who started the shamanic Loon group posted this. I hope you don't mind this post gets a bit lengthy:

Jonathan Horwitz shared Fältbiologerna's photo.
THANK YOU FRIENDS!!!!!!!!
Today, the company hired to cut the trees stopped cutting them and broke their contract with Nordkalk, the Finnish mining company. Many of you have signed the petition and some have even written to various Swedish government bureaucrats, etc. Today, demonstrators sat in the pathway of the machines, police took them away, new demonstrators filled the holes. And finally the vice president of the tree cutting company gave in to the pleas of the officials of Gotland and ordered the stop.
PLEASE keep and eye on this. I'll keep you informed.
And THANK YOU! ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ Jonathan

By now Lynn's session should have started.

love to all Smile
